About Blake

Blake Slusser, owner and trainer, has been a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator since December 2012.  She began her journey into childbirth education in 2009 when she was expecting her first son, Jack.  In 2010, she managed the prenatal education program for three maternity hospitals in Central Virginia.  Then in 2013, her family expanded to include a second son, Henry, and her work responsibilities expanded to include oversight of prenatal education over six maternity hospitals throughout Virginia.  Blake became a Fellow in the American College of Childbirth Educators (2016) and made the decision to focus her work more on supporting families directly through her own childbirth education program and expand her reach to help other birth advocates on their journey to support growing families!

Blake has added birth doula services (2018), yoga classes (2020), and prenatal yoga (2021) to the list of ways she supports families. In 2021, Blake caught baby fever and decided a third kiddo was a great idea, adding Anne Wythe to the crew in 2022. Learn from an educator who is dedicated to your success and is actively teaching expectant families.

The mission of Birthing Babies is to expand access to childbirth education. You may notice that our prices are far lower than many other training programs-please don’t take this to mean that the work we pour into our students is any less. In fact, you will leave this training with the tools and knowledge to build your own birth business and curriculum. Blake offers a ton of additional resources for past participants for FREE to ensure that they smoothly transition into a PROFITABLE birth business! Anything you don’t see, let me know and I’ll try to add it!
